Trevor does some amazing product videos over at DJTV.

I am really excited to have Trevor Haugen from HaugenCreative.com and Reel Classroom on my podcast because Trevor makes some great project videos on Digital Juice. I have been a big fan of Digital Juice for years, I like their products but the education videos they have totally rock. Trevor’s video have tons of great b-roll and are really well done.

Also Trevor does some amazing motion graphics work with Adobe CS5 and After Effects for his HauganCreative.com site. He is located in SLC, Utah.

Here are the questions I asked:

• What is reel classroom? Do you have any educational product available?
• What is your background in video?
• Are you pretty much shooting with only DSLR’s now? Which ones are you using?
• Before you start shooting video what settings do you always check before hitting the record button?
• What type of mic do you use for your voice over work when you are showing b-roll? Are you recording it to the camera or external audio device?
• Do you shoot flat and then add color, contrast, saturation later? What NLE do you use?
• How long does it take you to make one of these product videos? The script you read is really well done and the videos you do are stuffed full of b-roll that works well with the script. What is your process of writing the scripts? Do you have b-roll in mind like a guy sweating a lot in front of hot lights before you write the script?
• Do you shoot it mostly yourself or do you have someone helping you running the camera?
• Lighting.
